episoft moisturiser with microencapsulated sunscreen review

"Episoft AC Moisturiser is super lightweight with lotion like runny consistency.

It has inbuilt sunscreen with SPF of 30, has broad-spectrum protection and a lot more.

It is fragrance-free, has very good SPF protection, does not makes your skin greasy or sweaty in winters.

It gets absorbed in the skin within seconds. Love it to the core. Will definitely repurchase it."

Key Terms

  • Microencapsulated Sunscreen: When sunscreen UV filters are microencapsulated, that means they are coated with a special coating to make them more stable and less reactive. These coatings can be made out of silica, enzymes, or other kinds of polymers.

  • Boot Star:  Boot Star Rating of sunscreen indicates the balanced protection level against both UVA and UVB radiations.

Key/Active Ingredients

  • Purified Water
  • Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate: only protects against UVB and not UVA rays. It is not very stable either when exposed to sunlight, it kind of breaks down and loses its effectiveness (not instantly, but over time - it loses 10% of its SPF protection ability within 35 mins).
  • Benzophenone-3: helps protect skin from the sun's harmful UV rays by absorbing UV radiation and dissipating it as heat.
  • Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane: has the ability to absorb ultraviolet light over a wide range of wavelengths and then convert it to less damaging infrared radiation (heat)
  • Capric/Caprylic Triglycerides: considered an excellent emollient and skin-replenishing ingredient. It's included in cosmetics due to its mix of fatty acids that skin can use to replenish its surface and resist moisture loss.
  • Glycerin: is commonly used with occlusives, another type of moisturizing agent, to trap the moisture that it draws into the skin.
  • Propanediol: Dissolves ingredients, decreases viscosity, and retains moisture.
  • Propylene Glycol: at low concentrations, propylene glycol acts like a humectant, which means it binds water and pulls in hydration to the outer skin layer.
  • Hydroxyethyl Acrylate:  functions as a stabilizer, texture enhancer, and opacifying agent
  • Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer: a gelling agent that thickens, emulsifies, and stabilizes products and solutions.
  • D-Panthenol: helps nourish and add vital moisture to the skin, first by sealing in hydration by boosting the skin barrier, but also by helping to rejuvenate and revitalize skin cells, helping to defy the ageing process.
  • Diazolidinyl Urea: antimicrobial preservative that helps your products not to go wrong too quickly.
  • Disodium EDTA: help the ingredients to get into our skin and boost the cleaning capabilities of the product.

Packaging

The Episoft AC Moisturiser comes in a rectangular cardboard box with necessary instructions written on it.

After opening the cardboard box, you will get a white plastic tube which has the instructions and ingredients written on it.

The tube has a flip-open packaging and the closing lid is super sturdy, it closes with a tic sound, I just love it, and this makes it travel-friendly too.

The colour theme of Episoft AC Moisturiser is super pretty, it's white and blue with a hint of orange, I absolutely adore it.

My experience with Episoft AC Moisturiser with Microencapsulated Sunscreen

After doing the skincare routine, apply sunscreen separately was a super tedious task for me, also since we will be living inside the house due to this COVID situation, I skipped sunscreen most of the days.

But one day I realised that even if I stay indoors, I go outside in sun at least for 5-10 minutes, maybe on the terrace, or to hang the clothes or to just sit back and relax.

And that is the time my head goes "ting", why am I not wearing sunscreen and at that only I saw a post on @blushbeautyandmore Instagram account and it was like this is what I needed. A moisturiser with sunscreen.

moisturiser with sunscreen for sensitive skin

So, I headed towards Nykaa to find this product, and there it was Episoft AC Moisturiser with Microencapsulated Sunscreen and the claims were just love,

  • Broad Spectrum Protection(UVA/UVB),
  • SPF 30(perfect for my condition),
  • Boot Star rating(Read the definition above),
  • Non-comedogenic,
  • Lightweight profile,
  • Paraben-free
  • Fragrance-Free
  • Dermatologically Tested

So, I went ahead and purchased it, it was delivered within 24 hours,  thanks to the super speedy delivery of Nykaa.

I did my skincare normally and instead of my regular moisturiser I applied Episoft AC Moisturiser and done.

Talking about the consistency, it is pretty runny and super lightweight will get absorbed into the skin in seconds.

It spreads supremely easy on the skin and gives that subtle glow to the skin.

I absolutely loved the results, even after hours it does not makes my skin greasy.

How I use it?

After doing my skincare routine normally, I apply this instead of moisturiser and voila good to go.
